Dopamine is an important neurotransmitter in the body that is produced in the Hypothalamus of the brain and is responsible for the wakefulness, cognition, and the mood of the individual. The reuptake of this neurotransmitter is inhibited that causes a pool of Dopamine to be formed in the vicinity of the reuptake point. This excess of Dopamine that is collected is used by the body for its uses during the day. Other hormones like Norepinephrine, Histamine, Serotonin are also increased.

The functions of these increased hormones are:
  • Norepinephrine: Promotes wakefulness and elevates heart rate
  • Histamine: Regulates the sleep cycle
  • Serotonin: Regulates mood, useful for memory, useful for creation of new neurons [Neurogenesis].
