Overview of Soma Pill
Soma Pill is an oral pain medication used for getting relief
from muscular and acute pain. This pain med is a brand version sold under the
generic painkiller Carisoprodol. This medication is approved for muscle
pain relief in adults only. So, nobody less than the age of 18 years
should use this pain medication.
It is a centrally acting muscle relaxer that alters the pain
sensations which are sent by neurotransmitters to the brain. This pain
med helps a person who is suffering from physical pain to relax
mentally and to calm down. It produces sedative effects in the user and induces
drowsiness or sleepiness in them. So, one must avoid performing any activities
requiring mental alertness while using this drug.
How should you consume Soma?
- Soma Pill should always be used under a doctor’s supervision. This pain med, if consumed in large amounts, can harm the user’s health. You must take the doses as prescribed by a doctor and use the med as instructed.
- · This pain med should be used orally before or after taking food. Do not consume the pills along with alcohol or drugs. Take this drug as a whole with a glass of water.
- · It is not advised to consume this drug by chewing, inhaling, injecting, splitting or breaking the pills.
- · The recommended time period for taking this pain med is 2-3 weeks maximum. Take the pills for the prescribed time period given by your doctor. Do not exceed the time limit given by your doctor.
- · This medication should be used with timely rest and physical therapy for better pain relief. Soma works better when used in addition to the above-mentioned.
- · Store the drug at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight. Always keep it in a safe place and make sure you keep the drug totally out of sight and reach of children.
- · Do not give it away to your friends or relatives. It is a prescription and a controlled drug as well. Because of its addictive nature, it has been increasingly abused by people. You must therefore avoid giving it away to anybody who has a drug addiction past.
- · Throw away any unused or expired products that are lying in your house right away.
Consumption of Carisoprodol during Breastfeeding and Pregnancy
It is not known if this drug would be harmful for women who
are pregnant or are planning to get pregnant. So, it is advised that if you are
pregnant or are planning to get soon, you must talk to your doctor before
taking this drug. Note that this pain med is not for recreational or
non-medical use. Pregnant women should avoid using this drug for such purposes.
Breastfeeding mothers are advised that they do not take this
pain med at all. By getting excreted through breast milk, this product can harm
the nursing baby. It can develop withdrawal symptoms in the baby and can also
lead to breathing problems.
