Armodafinil
is an R-Enantiomer of Modafinil. It has a much modified chemical structure than
that of Modafinil. A small dose of Armodafinil is as strong and effective as
Modafinil. It has been approved by FDA to reduce
extreme sleepiness in individuals suffering from narcolepsy,
obstructive sleep apnea and shift work sleep disorder. It is said to have a
mood-brightening effect on individuals and brings positivity in those suffering
from depression and anxiety
DOSING INFORMATION
- · Take it orally with or without food.
- · The narcolepsy and obstructive sleep apnea patients can take this pill daily once in the morning. Do not take it later in the day as it can lead to sleep disturbances because of its long half-life.
- · Those working in shifts can take this pill about an hour before the start of the work shift. Those who work in rotational shifts must talk with the doctor about its consumption.
- · The dosage depends on your medical condition and your response to the treatment. Take it as prescribed. Do not overdose or use for a longer duration.
WHO SHOULD NOT TAKE IT?
- · Children under the age of 17 years should not receive this medication.
