Provigil, whose generic name is Modafinil, is a
performance-enhancing smart drug. These pills hold a dominant position in the

DOSAGE OF PROVIGIL
Dosage in Narcolepsy
and Obstructive Sleep Apnea
For Narcolepsy and Obstructive Sleep Apnea patients, the recommended dose is 200 mg as a single dose to be taken orally once a day in the morning on an empty stomach.
People also can take a dosage of upto 400 mg but taking 400 mg doesn’t make any difference than a 200 mg dosage of provigil.

For Shift Work Disorder patients, the recommended dose is 200 mg to be taken orally as a single dose approximately one hour before the work shift starts.
Dosage for patients with Severe Hepatic Impairments
For the patients with Severe Hepatic Impairments, the dosage recommended is half of the dose recommended to the patients with normal hepatic function.
WHAT ARE ITS SIDE EFFECTS?
The common side effects of Provigil are:
- Headache;
- Dizzinesss;
- Nausea;
- Diarrhea;
- Nervousnesss;
- Anxiety;
- Agitation;
- Dry mouth;
- Insomnia;
- Upper respiratory tract infection
- There are a few serious side effects of Provigil which if you start experiencing, you must immediately consult a doctor.
- Fever, sore throat, vomiting with a severe blistering, peeling and red skin rash;
- Hallucinations;
- Easy bruising or bleeding, muscle weakness, numbness, pain, severe tingling;
- Depression, anxiety, aggression;
- Chest pain;
- Fast/irregular/uneven heart beats;
- Frequent mood changes (confusion, suicidal tendencies etc.)
WHO SHOULD NOT CONSUME PROVIGIL
- Provigil should not be used by pregnant women or by women of child bearing potential unless they are using effective contraception.
- This pill should not be consumed by women who are breastfeeding as it might affect the nursing baby’s health
- This pill should not be given to a child under the age of 12. It may also cause severe rashes in case these pills are consumed by children under the age of 16.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- You can take this medicine with or without food. You must, however, take this medicine at a constant point of time. Generally this smart drug is prescribed for 12 weeks or less.
- Never misuse this medicine. Keep it out of reach of other people. You should never sell or give this drug away to other people. Make sure this doesn’t fall in the hands of people who were drug addicts before or had a history of drug abuse.Selling or giving away any medicine is against the law.
